Union Cites Moya’s commitment to working families, immigrant communities

Queens, NY - United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1500 is proud to announce their endorsement of Francisco Moya (D-Corona) for State Assembly in the 39th Assembly District in Queens.  UFCW Local 1500 represents more than 23,000 workers in the New York region in a variety of industries, including supermarkets, food processing and manufacturing and retail stores and is one of the largest locals in the state.

“Francisco Moya will be a strong voice for working men and women in Albany,” said Pat Purcell, Assistant to the President of Local 1500.  “Throughout his career of service to the community, he has proven to be a tireless voice for good paying jobs and real benefits that support a robust middle class.  Moreover, his continued efforts on behalf of immigrant communities have enhanced the lives of countless families in his neighborhood and throughout New York.”

“I am honored and proud to have earned the support of UFCW Local 1500, “said Moya.  “With their support, I have gained a powerful partner in the effort to create jobs for the future.  Their leadership has been a key instrument in promoting progressive values, especially in the push for comprehensive immigration reform and economic security for immigrants.  I look forward to collaborating with them in Albany on the issues that matter to working people.”
